Our Centre of Excellence- Garment Design, Manufacturing and Quality Control from the Department of Fashion Design offers industry needs-based training programmes. We think of it as our work to support industries, bureaucrats and the government in skilling the nation. We are working with support of the Department of Handlooms and Textiles, Government of Karnataka.

It is a unique programme that will provide advanced skill enhancement training as per the need of textile, apparel and fashion industries. We hope this will help boost employment in the fashion industry, garment manufacture and design, and quality control. We maintain the highest academic and industrial standards. 

The skill enhancement training will provide a solid foundation in the aesthetic, intellectual and technological requirements of industry with state of the art facilities. The courses integrate theory and practice in an innovative and rigorous curriculum. The courses are taught by faculty with outstanding academic and industry experience.

Students will be able to meet the demands of industry on completion of this programme. Students will have training in innovative apparels, accessories, textile products and with digital methods. Students can grow to develop their creative application, design sensibilities and individual artistic expression. Using this, they can develop products to meet the needs of customers. 

This programme has laboratory facilities for:

• Pattern Making and Garment Construction with power and domestic single needle lock stitch machines, mannequins and fashion maker machines. 
• Well-equipped computer-aided design with computers with Reach CAD, Photoshop, AutoCAD and Coreldraw software.
• Textile Fibres, Dyeing and Quality with testing equipment like tensile strength testers, drape meter, digital balance, shrinkage tester, stiffness tester, crease recovery tester, washing tester, laundrometers and so on.
